This is to openly declare that we have given up trying to make hacks for the Internet Explorer. The problem with Internet Explorer (and Microsoft) is that while developers like us have embraced the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) standards, there are just too many versions of IE that are still being used.

Working on hacks related to IE consume too much time and effort, and for what? There are some CSS styles that are not even being supported by IE or is taking IE too long to adapt. We especially do not wish to support IE 6 and below browsers, Google is doing it and so are we.. (please read : Google Apps Drops Support for IE6, also http://blog.cloudraker.com/2010/02/24/another-nail-in-ie6-coffin/)

Being designers and developers, we have come to a point that we, as professionals, would stick to the norms of the majority and not be enslaved by the lack of cooperation by one.

This site as an example, was designed supposedly for all browsers and should work properly on all current releases of browsers (yes including IE 8). If you are using firefox or safari, you would notice the links on top of this page to have curved backgrounds (these are backgrounds using only some CSS and does not reference and rely on any image.)

What we, as designers and developers will be doing for IE from now on is we will limit the use of CSS and create a different set for IE that is faster to deploy (meaning we might resort to the use of html tables's instead of CSS div's..

Besides

In viewing our client's site and this site, we recommend the latest version of firefox. Period!
